Emma Bunton is 'over the moon' about Geri Horner's pregnancy
November 26, 2016, 2:24 pm
Emma Bunton is thrilled her Spice Girls bandmate Geri Horner's pregnancy news is now out in the open, admitting she has been struggling to keep it a secret.
The 44-year-old singer broke the baby announcement on Monday (10Oct16), revealing that she is expecting her second child, her first with husband Christian Horner.
Just hours after the news was made public, Geri and Christian attended the Attitude Awards in London, England, with the Wannabe hit maker showing off her growing bump in a clinging black halter neck dress.
Baby Spice herself, Emma, joined the couple at the event and told reporters she is so excited about her pal's impending arrival.
"I've known for a while and I've had to keep it a secret, so it's wonderful that it is out in the open. I'm over the moon, she is going to be an amazing mum, for the second time," she told the Daily Mirror.
"I'll be babysitting but we are all working mums so she doesn't need any advice from me. It's very exciting."
Geri is already a mum to 10-year-old daughter Bluebell, from a previous romance with film producer Sacha Gervasi, while Christian also has a three-year-old daughter named Olivia from a prior relationship.
It remains to be seen how Geri, Emma and Mel B's reformed Spice Girls trio, dubbed GEM, will continue now Geri is pregnant. The three-piece had been expected to perform in London next summer (17) to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of their debut single Wannabe.
Both Victoria Beckham and Mel C declined to be a part of the reunion.
Geri hinted at her baby news on social media on Monday when she shared a photo of a handwritten note, which read, "God bless Mother Nature", a line from her 2001 single It's Raining Men. She signed it, "#mamaspice", alongside a sketch of a pregnant woman.
The couple then confirmed the pregnancy news in a statement which read: "They are absolutely delighted to announce they are expecting their first child together. The couple is overjoyed with the good news and cannot wait to welcome the newest addition to their family."
